Q Is Anyone Familiar W/The Term "optimizing" In Re. To A New PC?

Getting a basic Dell from BB and they suggest this be done. Can the avg. "geek" do it @ home? Small charge $30. Say it deletes garbage from the factory and improves the speed? Thanks

They claim the PC comes from the factory w/background "clutter" which slows it down and s/b removed. WTF do I know my first "bonifide" PC been using WebTV for reasons I explained in Barman`s thread. Thanks This will finally answer the age old Q "is it too late to teach an OLD dog new etc"?
